Ordovician inarticulate brachiopods from graptolitic shales at Dob's Linn, Scotland; their morphology and significance

S. Henry Williams, and Martin G. Lockley

Paleontol. Mus., Oslo, Norway
Univ. Colo. Denver, United States

Hitherto undescribed inarticulate brachiopods associated with Lapworth's famous Late Ordovician graptolitic shale succession at Dob's Linn, Scotland, are shown to belong to a single highly distinctive species group best accommodated as the genotype of a new taxon, Barbatulella lacunosa n. gen. and n. sp. Evidence is presented to show that the species was probably adapted to an epiplanktic mode of life.--Journal abstract.
