Wyattella, a new turritellid genus from the Eocene of Colombia, South America

A new 'bicarinate' turritellid genus from the middle to late Eocene of the Department of Bolivar, Colombia, South America is here described as Wyattella, n. gen. The new genus is characterized by an apically upturned medial primary spiral and the ontogenetic absence of the adapical primary spiral. Two new species, Wyattella allisoni (type species) and Wyattella edwini, are described from different stratigraphic horizons in the same area.
