Ecology of Pleistocene mollusks from Martha's Vineyard; a reconsideration

A. Lee McAlester, Ian G. Speden, and Martin A. Buzas

Detailed criticism of a paper by Raup and Lawrence (1963) leads to the conclusion that analysis of fossil molluscan assemblages are of more value in ecological interpretation than those authors believed. The evaluation is based upon comparison of Pleistocene molluscan assemblages with known modern ecological conditions.
