Chonostrophiella, a new genus of chonostrophid brachiopod

A. J. Boucot, and Thomas W. Amsden

The type species is Chonostrophia comlanata Hall; the genus ranges from Lower Devonian to upper Lower Devonian in eastern North America, and possibly northwestern South America. Chonostrophia as emended ranges from the upper Lower Devonian into the Middle Devonian, without overlapping the range of Chonostrophiella, and occurs in the central United States.
