Cirripedia from the Yorktown Formation (Miocene) of Virginia

The balanomorph cirripeds Balanus concavus proteus Conrad, B. trigonus Darwin, and four new species, B. multiseptatus, B. obliquus, B. pacificus prebrevicalar and B. oppidieboraci are described from the upper Yorktown Formation of the Virginia Miocene. Balanus concavus pacificus Pilsbry and B. concavus pacificus forma brevicalar Pilsbry are here raised to the status of species and subspecies, respectively. Lectotypes are here designated for B. proteus Conrad and B. concavus pacificus forma brevicalar.
