Reinterpretation of Endocostea Whitfield

The internal rib of "Endocostea" [Cretaceous] is a hollow structure. It is interpreted as caused by a parasite with a mode of life comparable to Polydora in recent oysters. Therefore the name Endocostea has to be abandoned and all species should be referred to Inoceramus.
