Glottidia glauca n. sp. from the lower Claiborne of Texas

This new species of lingulid brachiopod is described from 2 incomplete shell valves from LaSalle County, Texas. The specific name refers to the gleaming external surface of the shell. The only other known fossil species of Glottidia in the U. S. are G. albida (Eocene of California) an G. inexpectans (Miocene of Virginia).
