Additional mollusks from the Late Pliocene Bender local fauna, Meade County, Kansas

Barry B. Miller

Mollusks from a new locality of the Bender local fauna are listed here and the paleoecology is discussed. This faunule contains 34 species (19 genera), of which 14 are aquatic gastropods, 17 terrestrial gastropods, and three sqhaeriid pelecypods; 17 species are new to the Bender locaocal fauna. Comparison of correlation indexes indicates that the Bender is intermediate between the late Pliocene Rexroad and early Pleistocene Sand Draw local faunas.--V.M.J
