The ostracode genus Orionina and its species

The genus Orionina Puri, 1954, [Miocene to Recent] is redescribed. Six species (Cythere vaughani Ulrich & Bassler, Cythere serrulata Brady, Orionina bradyi n. sp. , Orionina similis n. sp., Orionina fragilis n. sp., and Orionina eruga n. sp.) are assigned to this genus and the possible existence of another species - Orionina "reticulata" (Hartmann) - is indicated. Stratigraphic and geographic distribution are discussed.
