Additional comments on species of Lithostrotionella

W. H. Easton

The writer disagrees with the interpretations of 4 names of species of the coral genus Lithostrotionella [Mississippian] presented by Nelson, in which it was suggested that Lithostrotion microstylum White, 1880 might be the senior subjective synonym of Lithostrotionella jasperensis, L. circinatus and L. confluens. He believes that these are closely related species which can be separated by degrees of difference in the strength and construction of the columellae, length of major septa, and inflation of lonsdaleoid dissepiments.
