Ontogenetic changes and detailed structures are described from well-preserved silicified archaeocyathids from the Last Chance Range of southeastern California. Separation of the genera Ethmophyllum and Ajacicyathus on the basis of complexity of inner wall structure as displayed in cross-sections alone, does not appear to be warranted.
