Notes on some upper Paleozoic terebratuloid brachiopods

Study of the upper Paleozoic terebratuloid fauna has revealed new information about many genera which have required redefinition, relegation to synonomy, elevation from synonomy, or serious question as to validity. Rostranteris Gemmellaro (1899) is removed from synonomy with Notothyris Waagen (1882). Dielasmella Weller (1911) Jisuina Grabau (1931), Pseudoharttina Licharew (1934), Centronelloidea Weller (1914), and Gefonia Licharew (1936) are redefined. Morrisina Grabau (1931) is considered a synonym of Hemiptychina Waagen (1882). Mongolina Grabau (1931) is considered probably a synonym of Rostranteris Gemmellaro (1899). Heterelasmina Licharew (1939) is considered a synonym of Jisuina Grabau (1931). The genus "Harttina" Hall Clarke (1892) is seriously questioned and considered probably to represent a Mesozoic species belonging to the Zeilleriidae and misplaced among Hall and Clarke's Mississippian collections from the Windsor Group of Nova Scotia. The genus Reflexia Rotai (1931) is rejected as a terebratuloid and placed tentatively with the rhynchonellids.
