Pennsylvanian fusulinids from Ward Hunt Island

Marcus Luther Thompson

The following Pennsylvanian fusulinids are described and illustrated from Ward Hunt Island, located a few miles N. of Ellesmere Island and on the S. margin of the Arctic Ocean: Ozawainella? arctica Thompson, n. sp., Pseudostaffella wardensis Thompson, n. sp., Fusulinella zelleri Thompson n. sp., Wedekindellina lata Thompson, n. sp., and Fusulina huntensis Thompson, n. sp. These are the first Pennsylvanian fusulinids to be described and illustrated from the northern Arctic region of Canada. The rocks from which they were collected are correlated with the middle part of the Des Moinesian Series of the central United States.
