A proposed suprageneric classification of the class Rhizopodea is given, with particular revision of the order Foraminiferida. For each category of the proposed classification a complete synonomy is attempted, including family group names originally proposed as new, variant spellings, amended terminations and transfers from one family group status to another, all with full references.
