Note on some fossils from the Giron group in the Rio Lebrija valley, department of Santander, Colombia
Werner D. Brueckner
The Giron beds of Colombia are a sparsely fossiliferous series of continental clastic deposits which have been regarded as late Triassic or younger. Fern leaves referred to Callipteridium and ostracods of the genus Darwinula, indicative of Permo-Carboniferous age, have recently been identified in carbonaceous shale in the lower part of the series in the Lebrija valley, Santander.
